Minutes of the regular meeting of Upsala Area Schools, Independent School District No. 487, held on April 24th, 2024. Present were Chairperson Peterson, along with board members Harren, Warga, Wensmann, Roerick, and Klassen. Also present from the district were Superintendent Capelle, Principal Klug, AD & Business Manager Zimmerman, and Building & Grounds Manager Harren. The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm by Chairperson Peterson.
1. Motion to approve agenda. Motion carried 6-0.
2. Motion to approve bills, journal entries, and cash balances as presented. Motion carried 6-0.
3. No public comment was received.
4. Administrator reports were received (Superintendent, Principal, Activities Director, Building Manager).
5. Committee updates were received.
6. Motion to approve Consent Agenda as presented. Motion carried 6-0.
7. Second reading of Policy 533 – Wellness was reviewed.
8. Motion to approve the Human Resources/Payroll Clerk agreement as presented. Motion carried 5-0. One abstention.
9. Motion to approve the Buildings/Grounds Manager agreement as presented. Motion carried 5-0. One abstention.
10. Motion to approve the Head Cook agreement as presented. Motion carried 6-0.
11. Motion to approve the increase to preschool tuition as presented. Motion carried 6-0.
12. Motion to approve the academic summer support program as presented. Motion carried 6-0.
