REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 213
OSAKIS, MN 56360
April 8, 2024, 5:30 PM
The regular meeting of the school board was called to order by Chairperson Michael Collins. The following members were present: Michael Collins, Greg Faber, Corey Goodwin, Jeff Kalpin, Amy Weisser, and Superintendent Justin Dahlheimer. Also in attendance were Brad Hoffarth, Shad Schmidt, Pat Kalpin, Travis Gulbrandson, Allison Vogel, Jennifer Otremba, Angela and Eric Jacobson, Dan Wessel, Craig Waldvogel, Chad Gulbrabson, Dave Gizinzki, and Roxanne Sweetwater.
It was moved by Faber, seconded by Kalpin, to approve the agenda with additions. The motion carried unanimously.

Positive Comments
The grants that the school has put in for to bring in more money for our school and the time and effort of the staff members for applying for them.
Twenty-nine students that went on the Close Up trip to Washington D.C.
Twenty-nine students that qualified for the State FFA Convention compared to five last year.
Teachers positivity and being flexible.
MCA testing coming up.

It was moved by Weisser, seconded by Goodwin, to approve the following general consent items: the minutes of the March 11, 2024 regular meeting; the bills in the amount of $297,198.74 check numbers 71220-71317; wire transfers in the amount of $751,671.87, and the student activity account fund in the amount of $33,295.84 check numbers 8227-8287. The board acknowledged receiving the treasurer’s report. The motion carried unanimously.
It was moved by Goodwin, seconded by Faber, to approve the following personnel consent items: approve the hiring of the following positions: Janet Gibbs, High School Special Education Teacher, at per Master Agreement amount of $64,404. Drew Fearing, additional Baseball Coach at $1,500. Emily Malone, Long-Term Substitute Teacher at $253.18 per day. Approve the work agreements/Master Agreement: Secretary 1, Secretary 3 - HS, Secretary 3 – Elementary/AD, Bookkeeper and Executive Administrative Assistant, Technology Aide, Custodial Aide, Head Custodian, Health Coordinator, Technology Director, Custodians, Bus/Van Drivers. Consider approving the following retirement resignation; Virginia Earl, Bus Driver. Consider the following leave of absence; Katie Ferris, Kindergarten teacher. Consider approving the following 2023-24, 2024-25 Master Agreement with AFSCME Council 65, Local 487 Paraprofessionals. The motion carried unanimously.
New Business:
It was moved by Kalpin, seconded by Weisser, to approve the Acceptance of Gift Resolution. The motion carried unanimously.
Old Business:
•Silverstreak Foundation Advisory Committee initial meeting to be held soon.
