SWANVILLE SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES, DISTRICT #486
APRIL 24, 2024
The regular meeting of the Swanville School Board was called to order in the Swanville School Library at 7:06 p.m. on April 24, 2023 by President Chris Kircher. Members present were Kathy Beckman, Molly Gerads, Bill Johnson, late was Luke Peterson and absent was Kyle Thieschafer. Also present were Superintendent Travis Hensch, Principal Sheryl Johnson. Guests present were Darren Overton with Sitelogiq, Teresa Giese, Elly Tepley and Chris Gilyard.
Darren Overton with SitelogIq presented the Community Survey results. Darren commended the community for the great response rate and high NPS (Net Promoter Score) of 32. The survey result information will be used for School Board workshopping for the future of Swanville Public School.
Kathy Beckman made a motion to approve the Agenda for the meeting. Seconded by Luke Peterson. Vote: 5-0, motion carried.
Bill Johnson made a motion to approve the School Board Minutes from the March 20, 2024 regular school board meeting. Seconded by Luke Peterson. Vote: 5-0, motion carried.
CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS
Molly Gerads made a motion to accept the Hiring of April Legat- K-12 Music/Band Instructor. Seconded by Bill Johnson. Vote: 5-0, motion carried.
BILLS TO BEALLOWED
Bill Johnson made a motion to pay the bills in the amount of $266,371.52. Seconded by Luke Peterson. Vote: 5-0, motion carried.
Molly Gerads made a motion to approve the electronic transfers for payroll of $55,407.22 on March 20th and $55,862.30 on April 5, 2024. Seconded by Kathy Beckman. Vote: 5-0, motion carried.
NEWBUSINESS
2024-2025 Staffing Non-Tenured Renewal/Non-Renewal:
All renewed: Nicollet Gammon-Deering, Lori Hintz, Mikayla Novak, Tara Ramsdell., Samantha Roden, Jordan Sales, Sara Schultz, Tammie Wimmer
All non-renewed: Kevin Stueven.
Luke Peterson made a motion to accept the lawn mowing bid from Yard Barbers. Bill Johnson seconded. Vote 5-0, motion carried.
Molly Gerads made a motion to accept and sign the Swanville Swans field lease for 2024. Seconded by Kathy Beckman.
Vote 5-0, motion carried
REPORTS
Principal Report was given by Pk-12 Principal Sheryl Johnson. Activities Director Report was given by AD Aaron Gapinski. Superintendent Announcements given by Travis Hensch.
Motion was made by Luke Peterson to proceed with a co-op with Albany Area Schools for Gymnastics. Seconded by Bill Johnson. Vote 4-1, motion carried.
OLDBUSINESS
Chris Kircher presented a tentative proposal for some land for the Trapshooting team to use. More information to come when details are finalized.
The next Swanville School District Board meeting is scheduled for May 15, 2024 at 7 p.m. in the High School Library.
Chris Kircher made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:32 p.m. Seconded by Kathy Beckman. Vote: 5-0, motion carried, meeting adjourned.
