An odd play at second base ended up allowing the go ahead run to score for Dent. Dent’s Tyler Doll attempted to steal second, but did not attempt to slide. He instead attempted to hurdle Predators’ second baseman Sam Ecker. Ecker was unable to hold on to the ball, but the umpire declared the runner was safe anyway due to fielder obstruction. The Predators made an argument it was runner interference, but the call stood.
The 2016 Predators will be left with a sour taste until they pick up the bats next spring, after being bounced from the Region 16C tournament in a pair of one-run losses last weekend. The latest loss will hurt the most, as a controversial play in the eighth inning aided Dent in a 2-1 win over Long...

Tim Zastrow helped spark the offense on Sunday by blasting a two-out, two-run double off the fence in left centerfield in the first inning.
The Predators have shown that when they have their full lineup, they can hit the cover off the ball. After belting out 26 hits in two games in the opening weekend of the league playoffs, they exploded for 18 as they cruised to their third Resorters East title in a row with an 11-1 win over Carlos...
